Fog lights are mainly of yellow and white color and sometimes are of blue color as well ( But blue color produces glaring so rarely used). The fog lights are implanted in such a way that the light makes a sharp angle with the surface and makes the surface clearly visible to drivers. But now many companies are omitting the fog lights with other LED lights and claiming that they are good enough to use in low visibility situations. Luxury cars like Mercedes, Range Rover, BMW and Audi are coming with different position fillers at the spot which was earlier contributed to fog lights.
Fog lights are of very less use in places where winters doesn’t come like in the middle east but in southeast area, like in the North part, Northeastern part, in the western ghats and eastern ghats, misty climate is abundantly observed and in such conditions the requirement of some lights which will solve the low visibility issue is of prime importance so, there we have to go for fog lights as they are the only one capable of enhancing the visibility in the foggy weather. And this investment can be a life savior many times as so many crashes happens on the highway every year and the number of deaths due to these crashes are astoundingly increasing because population is increasing so is the demand of the automobiles and the thrill to drive car at high speed is taking lives of so many people every year, because driving swiftly in less visible conditions is only enhancing the chances of bumping into some other vehicle only and in less visibility and with high speed it will become difficult for one driver to see the other nearby driver. One after another vehicles bump into each other due to the low visibility because of foggy weather and the main headlight will be too bright in low visibility conditions and the penetration of main high beam headlamps in the fog is very less thus making it reflect back to the driver and thus dazzling the driver. So for this purpose we have to go for lights which can become helpful and increase visibility but the fog light won’t do any good if the speed will not be maintained by the driver as with slow speed and fog lights on one can see through the fog and it will lessen the risk of road accidents.
Which color fog light will give more clear view Yellow vs white colored fog light?
Out of yellow or white fog light which colored fog light should I use? Earlier the yellow colored was the hero but now the time have changed and the white colored fog lights have gotten the attention. But still the question arises which one is better? Because going with the trend is not promising more clear view and safety in the foggy weather condition. Yellow fog light which have longer wavelength than the other colors reduces the glaring effect and in yellow light one can observe less bouncing back of light into the eyes and this also doesn’t blind the other drivers on the highway and when it comes to yellow light fog lamps they are also more effective in penetrating the fog particles.
Now, when white colored fog lamps are considered they are gaining more popularity than the yellow fog lights in this period of time. The white colored fog lights have cooling effect on eyes when compared to yellow colored fog lamps and with the white colored fog lamps the brightness is much more which makes things brighter in front of the vehicle. The place of implantation of fog lamps on the car is below the main headlights as with this fitting they won’t interfere in each others functioning. When yellow colored fog lamps are used then you have to turn on your main high beam headlights as the single yellow colored fog lights are not sufficient in illuminating in front of your car but in case of white colored fog lights there is no need of turning on the main beam headlights along with them.
